Voices Of Million Hoodies Members On Inauguration Day

As the United States inaugurates a new president, many across the country have expressed concern about the vision and direction of the country by the incoming administration.

The membership of Million Hoodies compiled reactions from around the country on what’s at stake for our communities with the inauguration of new administration that has promised to deport millions of undocumented immigrants, create a Muslim registry, and end health coverage for vulnerable Americans.

In this video statement, we are sending a message about what’s at stake for the next four years with an administration that has promised to harm our communities. It is incumbemnt that young people find ways to get politically activated and involved to protect the security of so many people.

The president-elect has vowed to enact and repeal policies that disproportionately and directly impact communities of color, women, members of the LGBTQ community, and those not of a Judeo-Christian background. As a human rights membership organization that represent hundreds of young Black and Brown people across the country, Million Hoodies Movement for Justice commits to building a movement for human dignity and democracy to ensure that our communities are prosperous and feel safe.
